So you're having a baby... I mean, a brand?!

And much like having a kid, it probably started with a twinkle in your eye, a moment of passion, and a healthy dose of eternal optimism.
Bringing a new brand into the world is the easy part. Raising a brand that's a genuine world-changer? Well, that takes commitment.
Think of it like this: while there's no "right" or "wrong" way to parent a business, we all know a well-behaved brand when we see one. And we definitely know a brand with "so much potential..."
So, what's the secret to raising a good one?
It all starts with knowing that branding is way more than just slapping a logo on everything. Sure, that's part of it, but a great brand builds a magical, almost intangible connection with its audience - a real, two-way relationship with actual human beings.
Imagine your brand assets (logos etc) as your family values. You're inviting people to join your crew, so they need to know what they're signing up for. My mother used to say, "You can't control your how your kids behave, but you can definitely manipulate those little suckers!" And she was right.
Humans are social creatures, and we're always looking for our 'family' - a place to belong. When your brand shows up knowing exactly who it is, people can easily buy into your vision and join your movement.
Your job as a brand-parent is to create a community by:
- Demonstrating a crystal-clear value system.
- Telling consistent stories that connect your product with an emotion.
Before you touch a single logo, website, or photo, spend a good chunk of time and energy visualising the exact customer experience you want to create. This foundation makes everything else - your logo, website, and videos - so much easier.
Now go forth and raise that world-changing brand. 🥰
